Link Unfurl Block
A link used to be just text. I made it something you could see and work with on the Lucid canvas. Won the hackathon, then shipped it.

The problem
Before this, you pasted a link into Lucid and got... a link. Just text. Want to know what it was? Open it. Want to keep working? Go back to Lucid.
What I built
I built the Link Unfurl Block during a hackathon. Took first place. Then I merged it into the product.
Now a pasted link becomes a block with a title, thumbnail, and source. You can add a description, too. People can see what they're looking at and why it's there before clicking anything.
For supported integrations, you can even view or edit the content right inside the document or board. The thing you're talking about is right there with the conversation.
Why it matters
You're using a canvas to think through something together. Having to leave it every time you need a document or design breaks that up. I wanted those things to be part of the work, not just links away from it.
Lucid's documentation shows what the blocks support today.
